Letter Writing Group

The BCCAG Letter Writing Group (LWG) is looking for a new coordinator.

John Hughes has led this group for some years and would like to hand this on some new hands.

Below is a summary of the work

Letter Writing Group (LWG) supports campaigns by BCCAG and many other organisations. We write mostly email letters, make phone calls and sign relevant petitions.

Issues worked on during the last year include: 

• Local, eg Westernport Bay Gas Terminal, Marine Care Ricketts Point, Rubicon Forest Protection 

• State, eg Victoria’s carbon targets, tax on Electric Vehicles 

• National, eg Stop Adani, Barrier Reef, Sustainable Fisheries, IPCC Report/ Australia’s ‘Glasgow’ commitments

There is no minimum commitment, and no formal process to join. 

Your actions are guided by: 

• The BCCAG Website - menu item ‘Calls to Action’. 

• BCCAG Monthly Newsletters. 

• LWG suggested actions, circulated by email. 

All of the above will include suggested people/organisations to approach, with references to relevant information and key points that you could make.
