Esperance, a small town in Western Australia, made a decision to transition from gas to electricity. The transition for domestic gas users was competed this year.
Esperance is a coastal town some 700 km south east of Perth with a population of about 14,000.
It was determined that supply of gas in the town was not viable, so the transition was based on commercial rather than environmental reasoning.
This is their story in summery HERE and in more detail HERE.
