Sandy Eco Expo
We are excited to welcome everybody to the inaugural Sandy Eco Expo (SEE).
SEE will be held at the Sandy Beach Community Centre at 2 Sims Street,Sandringham
Saturday 11 May from 12pm - 4pm.
The volunteer-run event aims to raise awareness about environmental and sustainability programs that are already in place in our beautiful area, and to kickstart conversations about what more can be done.
And it’s going to be fun!
The expo will include information stands, workshops, a garden produce swap area (bring your lemons, herbs, veggies and fruit), second-hand clothes market, one-day only collection of specific recyclables, and screening of The Clean Bin movie.
SEE is the result of community groups Village Zero Sandringham, Bayside Climate Crisis Action Group (BCCAG), 3191 BeachPatrol, and the Sandy Beach Community Centre joining forces.
Data collected on the day will provide valuable insights into the community’s appetite to divert waste from landfill and will assist in future planning of programs and events.
Want to get involved?
We are looking for several stallholders in the second-hand clothes market room. There is no cost to stallholders. You will need to set up and pack down your stall and be present from 11.30am until 4.30 (or sold out!).
You will need to bring your own rack and hangers, and organise your own payment system.
The clothes must be clean, good quality and very good condition. You must take away anything that is not sold.
Please keep in mind that this is the first time we are holding this event so there are no guarantees of the number of visitors we will have.
We are not setting price limits, but we recommend you keep most items under $10.
